This is the very first step of Start Right and Carry On, and is the key to you finding out what it is that YOU need to do to get started. Having a report prepared just for you means that you know the suggestions contained in it are created for your exact requirements – so whether you are a vegetarian athlete, a lapsed runner who wants to ditch the baby belly or a busy professional who travels a lot and ends up eating out all the time, your report will give you the steps that will work for you.
When you sign up to Start Right, you’ll be sent a PDF document which asks you to complete a three day food diary and return it with some info about yourself so that I can use my nutritional skills to help you get clear on your very first steps.
As part of your Start Right Report you’ll also receive some tips which are pretty much essential to you, and everyone else. How do I know that these tips are essential to everyone? Well, they are the tips that I share with virtually ALL of my clients – ie the people who come to me for a one-on-one consultation and those who come on my workshops. I always end up talking about these tips with them because they are pretty much always relevant, useful and can make a huge difference.
It’s my little gift to you because I know how hard it can be to put even the very first steps and turn them into action. You might not need to use the My Start Right Plan but it’s there for you, should you feel that you’d benefit from a planner to help you take the points from your Report and turn them into actions.
Making changes is hard and making changes last is even harder. I’m a nutritionist, and I don’t eat like one all the time. Knowing what to eat, and actually being motivated to eat it, are two different things, which is why when you sign up to Start Right and Carry On for a year, you’ll get access to motivation in the form of emails from me (and sometimes from specifically selected experts) which will help you Carry On eating better. There’s no pressure though – I’m not a food dictator so there is plenty of wriggle room and definitely NO guilt tripping! I’m here to answer your questions and share ideas for doing things differently – such as healthier recipes or easy swaps. It’s almost like having your own personal Nutritional Therapist on hand! If you choose not to sign up for a year, you’ll get the support for as long as you stay in Carry On.
This isn’t a vital part of Start Right and Carry On, but it’s a really fun addition. It’s where you’ll find a lovely bunch of people who are all doing their best to eat better, enjoy their food, feel healthier and NOT get hung up on calories, weightloss and diets. Everyone is super supportive and loves sharing their thoughts, recipes and suggestions on the different aspects of eating better.
Aaaah, who doesn’t love a good challenge? Especially one which you can’t really fail at, but which will make you feel great for just giving it a go. We’ve had some real corkers which got everyone talking, and then others which accidentally made us all go silent for a few days – the challenge was to switch of all tech for an hour before bed (great, but it meant that we all forgot to share how we were getting on!) The point of the challenges is to help turn some simple ideas, like drinking water at the most useful times of the day, into habits which we can then carry on with us. You don’t have to be perfect to join the challenges – in fact, some of the best results have come from people giving them a go when they thought they’d have no chance at all! One of the best things about the Challenges? They are only ever five days long so you get to do whatever you want on the weekend!
Again, just like the Challenges, you don’t have to join in the Reboots. You can watch from the outside or just dip your toes in a little.
A Seasonal Reboot is a week-long (well five days) chance to really focus on eating better, according to the season. Changing your eating a little as the seasons change is super useful in loads of ways – not least because it means you won’t get bored of eating the same foods over and over again. Eating seasonally can be cheaper too which is always nice (and don’t worry, you won’t be out foraging for fresh forest foods – unless that’s what you like doing!) but it’s also really useful to get into the habit of thinking about your food in a different way. To benefit most from Start Right and Carry On, you’ll want to be around for longer than just a few months.
As a member of the Start Right and Carry On family, you will always have the chance to book a one-on-one consultation with me for at a preferential rate. Not only that, but you’ll also get first dibs on my diary, which means if you realise you want (or need!) a consultation at any point, I’ll find you a slot as soon as I possibly can. You’ll also get to hear about any special offers, deals or projects that I’m working on before anyone else. Because, after all, family is family.
