It took me quite a while to figure out the best thing for me to eat before my super early Saturday morning bootcamp. Anything solid just didn’t work, and left me almost ready to barf at the first burpee. I tried smoothies, but they still didn’t have time to go anywhere other than up before the session. I tried just over-chomping a ripe banana, but that didn’t work. And I tried just having nothing but water beforehand, but that just left me feeling like I had a really bad hangover.
Then I remembered. Juice. But not just any old juice. Fresh, fruit and veg juice. A quick blitz with the juicer at 6.45 is the answer for me. I need to make sure that I get my pre-exercise anti-oxidants in there without fail, or I am virtually guaranteed an injury (did that last week when I forgot to have my juice – doh).
So, this week, and for the past few weeks (last week I forgot) I have been juicing carrots, apples, brocolli, cucumber, frozen berries and even ginger to give me a pre-workout, zingy zingy energy blast without the annoyance of having solids in my belly.
